Search giant, Google, has just made controlling smart homes much easier for people who own their Pixel smartphone.
Google Home, which costs $130, is no longer needed to take advantage of their connected smart home tech, as the Pixel phone will now be able to control your home via voice command.
All you have to do is go to the settings and pick Google Assistant. Then pick “Home Control” and you will suddenly be able to use your smart home from your phone in the same way you did with Google Home.
Google’s virtual assistant, the unimaginatively named Google Assistant, has different capabilities on different devices.
However, if you are the proud owner of a Pixel, then you will be delighted to see that it is gaining some of the capabilities of the Google Home.
You will need to sync all your devices to Google Assistant, but once you do, you will be able to control your smart home from your Pixel.
You can do this through voice command. Home control from your smartphone isn’t anything new, but the fact Google Pixel is now on board makes this exciting news for users of the brand.
